Day 156 Bed and Breakfast/Holiday Valley

Jefferson Inn, Ellicotville, NY
Even though February is the month of love due in part to Hallmark’s marketing, it’s still nice to reflect  on the things, people, and places, that we love and show our appreciation  to the significant others in our life.  Appropriately,  my blog inspiration book, Everthing I Need to Know about LOVE I Learned From a Little Golden Book  reminds us that, “without love, we wouldn’t know joy’s true heights.” A bed and breakfast is a good place to relax alone or celebrate your relationship with that special someone.

Reflection
This trip was filled with things that I love. It was  a  combined  ski trip, an activity that  I love, (Day 151 Ski Utah) and  a  stay in a bed and breakfast (B and B), the  Jefferson Inn. The Jefferson is minutes away from  Holliday Valley Ski resort in Ellicottiville, New York . I also love  history, architecture  and homes with a past ( Day 153  and Day 154 ) and the Jefferson Inn   is a  restored home from the 1800’s with interesting woodwork, a wrap around porch and  an intimate feel.  Of  course finding a place to relax with that special someone and to celebrate a special relationship is really what love is all about.

After a scary drive through a blizzard,  it was  a relief to  be greeted by the owner and the smell of chocolate. What I enjoyed about  the B and B was the welcoming  atmosphere because someone is sharing their home with you.  When you walk in, you are made to feel  special as  you are given a  tour  of the home, its  sitting area, where  you can help yourself  to coffee, teas, and homemade cookies,  the entrance to the hot tub, and your room.

Breakfast
In the morning you awake to a fantastic breakfast.  Sitting around the table with other guest you make friends and enjoy being waited on. After a day of skiing, the hot tub and the smell of fresh baked cookies made even the  record breaking cold ( -27 wind chill ) weekend  warm and cozy.

I would definitely  go to B and B again. This one, the Jefferson Inn, is a keeper in my empty nest survival tool box.

Spiritual reflection
And now these three things remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of theses is love (1 Corinthians 13:13)
