Transform something
old into a new creation
The North Park Boat House has been recently transformed into
a bicycle themed bar/restaurant. Don’t worry, this blog is not going to turn into a Trip Advisor
review of places to eat. However this was another nostalgic moment because I
remember being at the park boat house with my son to rent paddle boats
and now it’s a “hot spot.” As a teen,
this part of the park was also reserved for carousing
in cars trying to meet boys. Thus, this is
a old place with a new twist.
The café had bike stuff everywhere. It was not museum
quality like the stuff at the Bicycle Museum Day 4 but this place could have been a museum spin off. All the menu items were named with a bicycle theme. I just had to have the “Bicycle Heaven”
burger.
The food was great
and it seemed like a “happening “ place. Maybe a little too “happening” because the
wait was 60 minutes at 7pm but the great part was that we walked around the lake instead of just waiting. You
can get exercise and eat food in close proximity.
It was another picture
perfect night and a great time to relax and enjoy a friend's company. The deck
over looked the lake and it was a great way to remember something old transformed into something new
but this time much better.
But now is the time to
get rid of anger, rage, malicious behavior, slander and dirty language. Don’t
lie to each other, for you have stripped off your old evil nature and all its
wicked deeds. In its place you have clothed yourselves with a brand-new nature
that is continually being renewed as you learn more and more about Christ, who
created this new nature within you. (Colossians 3:8-10)
We strive for our conduct to match our faith. We also strive to act in truth so that we do not destroy trust and unity.
