I guess that I have
to work on that “do nothing thing” in
Day 17 because at 9pm yesterday, I decided
to go swing dancing at the James Street Tavern. The Little Golden Book says “dress
up and go dancing…any kind of dancing.”
Reflection
One thing about dancing is that no one seems to be sad when they’re
dancing. Everyone here had a simile on their face even if they were just learning. I watched the dancers to see if I could pick up the steps again. My
mother taught me the jitter bug as a
teenager. After watching, I felt like Gene Kelly and wanted to yell "Gotta Dance, Gotta Dance". I picked out the young Gene Kelly of the group and I was off! The great thing was
that everyone danced with everyone –they just wanted to dance.
This is a great way just to have fun no matter what your
dance skill. Tonight everyone knew everyone or they just all switched partners because they just “Gotta Dance”. I
went home like Gene just "Singing in the Rain". So find a place and swing!
