Day 369 Liberty Magic@Home -A virtual Magical Experience Every Friday- Where Thoughts of Covid- 19 Disappear and Objects Reappear

Just prior to the pandemic lock-down in February 2020, Pittsburgh’s Liberty Magic, a venue dedicated solely to the art of the sleight of hand, celebrated its one year anniversary.  For two seasons, world-renowned magicians wowed, amazed and brought a variety of personal approaches to the "magic show" for an adult audience. Magic@Home continues the show with a virtual magical experience. Host Zoe Ruth, Venue Manger of Liberty Magic, brings interviews and tricks with two new magicians to the virtual stage every Friday at 7.30 pm. Tune into Pittsburgh Cultural Trust’s Youtube or Facebook live  every Friday and watch your thoughts of  Covid-19 disappear  as objects reappear during this magical home experience.

Magic@home Episode 1-Getting up close with magicians at home

Reflection
There is something wonderful about a skilled  magician that gives you the opportunity to believe in the impossible. Even though we know magic is not real we strive to believe. It's magical to tap into the child in all of us during a show  when someone "reads our minds,"  moves objects or produces an illusion. Liberty Magic uses  "parlor magic,"  a show without a stage. This  intimate up-close and personal experience with the art and the artist, makes you question the reality in front of your eyes.

I became a fan of  Liberty Magic in its first season that opened with  Eric Jones, a 10 year veteran of his art who made coins multiply, cards fly, and both disappear and reappear in the hands of others  (see Day 237 ). Eric Jones again mesmerized as he opened the First Episode of Magic@home with Anna DeGuzman, a virtuoso of card manipulation (view here).

Eric Jones made Cards vanish and reappear/ Volunteers  can ask questions.
Magic@home continues an intimate encounter with magic by giving viewers the opportunity ask questions and  two volunteers are selected each week to be a part of the show. These masters of the impossible share their lives, history of  their trade and perform a few tricks on the digital stage.  A magician usually stays far away from the camera in order to preserve their secrets. Even with intent focus on the screen,  I was wowed with that  “how did they do that ” rush.

Tune in on Cultural Trust Youtubor Facebook
Friday nights and let your thoughts of the virus disappear during this digital intimate encounter with magic.  For a few minutes you can let magic fuel the belief  in the impossible.
