Eric Jones is back at Liberty Magic, a Pittsburg intimate space dedicated to the art of magic. I saw Jones dazzle the audience in 2019 (Day 234.) Jones was a top 12 semi-finalist on the television show America’s Got Talent where his sleight of hand illusions repeatedly mesmerized viewers and the judges earning the descriptions: “Brilliant” (Simon Cowell), a “Superhero” (Mel B.) and “Mind-blowing” (Heidi Klum.) He is back at Liberty Magic to show off his skills in a new show, Immaculate-Deception.”

I have praised
the Liberty Magic experience before (Day 343 ) because this club makes magic a perfect night out of fun and fascination. With only four rows, 70 seats, you are
immersed in the show. Liberty Magic brings a variety of artists with different
approaches to the slight of hand to Pittsburgh. Eric Jones has been one of my favorites for
his pure skill.
In the show “Impossible,” Jones, a 10+ year veteran of his art, made coins multiply, cards fly, and both disappear and reappear in the hands of others. He challenged you to scan his every movement. What I witnessed seemed impossible. Even when fixing my gaze on his every move, I still repeatedly thought “how did that happen.”

Liberty Magic gives you an intimate experience with the magician. Often magicians, like Jones, share their life story and motivation for their magical passion. His fascination with magic drew him to read every book on the subject as a child who lived in an isolated part of rural Virginia. He later discarded his full engineering scholarship at Cornell University to entertain others. |

Jones who admittedly practiced 12 hours a day in his early years, will amaze you with his skill with cards and coins that defy all boundaries of reason. Being so close to magic, you gain a heightened appreciation for his skill and dexterity that dazzles.
